Spreading Smiles: 600 Food Bags Packed for Kids

WOW – what an amazing day! 🎉 For SIGA’s Day of Sharing, the incredible team at Gold Eagle Casino (GEC) came together with heart and purpose to support children in our community.

In just two hours, 17 GEC employees and 2 spouses packed an incredible 600 food bags for the Food For Kids program at the Battlefords District Food & Resource Centre. These bags will be distributed through schools to kids living in food-insecure households, giving them access to easy-to-prepare meals for the weekends at home.

Every week, Food For Kids supports approximately 100–130 children, and in 2023 alone, the program distributed $43,794.80 worth of food. For many kids, these bags mean so much more than just food. One young boy recently shared that his favourite day of the week is Friday, because that’s when he receives his Food For Kids bag. 💛 Moments like these remind us why this program matters so deeply.
