Beyond Food Hampers: Our September 2026 Community Impact ( 2,200 People Supported and Over $91,800 Worth of Food and Products Distributed)
September was another busy month at the Battlefords District Food & Resource Centre (BDFRC), and we are grateful for the continued generosity and support of our community.
In September 2026 alone, we provided Emergency Food Hampers to 2,200 people, 54% of whom were children. These numbers reflect the ongoing need for food assistance throughout the Battlefords and surrounding communities.
But our work goes beyond providing Emergency Food Hampers.
Through our Food For Kids program, we help provide food to children who need additional support. Through our Warehouse Distribution, we also share surplus food and donated products, whenever available, with local non-profit organizations, community groups, and schools.
Across these three programs Food Bank, Food For Kids, and Warehouse Distribution, we distributed approximately $91,822.50 worth of food and products in September alone.
And these are just three of the ten different programs and services offered by BDFRC.
Community Support Makes It Possible
As an organization that receives no core funding, we rely on the generosity of individuals, local businesses, donors, community partners, fundraising efforts, and other available sources of support to continue providing our essential programs and services.
Every donation, whether big or small, helps us reach more people, support more families, and strengthen our community.
These numbers represent more than just statistics. Behind them are families receiving much-needed assistance, children having access to food, and community organizations working together to help those who need it most.
Thank You for Making a Difference
To everyone who donated, volunteered, organized food drives, or supported our programs throughout September, thank you.
Your generosity does more than fill our food bank shelves. It helps feed families, support children, and extend assistance to other organizations serving our community.
Together, we are making a difference beyond the walls of our food bank.
